Chocolate Delights
Sweet to the taste, rich and creamy Chocolate Soul as a topping, desert or artful expression is the movement being served just south of the Georgia border. Chocolate Soul is a series of performance showcases, dance and party event held about once a month in Tallahassee, Florida. IsReal and Terrance Darnell produce, host, recruit talent and perform; like master chefs, they are dishing out generous portions of the chocolate delights. It really does not matter how you like your chocolate dark, bitter-sweet, creamy, fudge or milky, this event is truly more than a show!
It's a blend of a different kinds of expressions, it not just the music; it's the artwork, the music, the people, the atmosphere, the positive vibe. IsReal says.. Chocolate Soul constantly pushes the limits musically to create an atmosphere forcing your expectation of a social gathering to take new forms. As innovative as the deserts in your favorite recipe book, the chefs give it to you, how you like it and in ways you don't expect with no additives, or preservatives. The room is dimly lit, with chairs, couches, tables, stage lights, guys playing with knobs, and the steady stream of movement.
Things settle in as you hear the first hello and greetings to the crowd.
Who is that on stage? PA,
Jay-C, Jazz Hop, LaShawn Tribble,
The Mad Violinist, to name a few that have graced the stage. The
walls display the artwork of Tasha Holmes, original abstract work.
Chocolate Soul is different. Bringing a lesser-viewed showcase of Hip-Hop,
Jazz, Neo-Soul singing, dancing and great musicians to you live, in Tallahassee,
Florida. By moving the boundaries of live band, Chocolate Soul includes spoken
word, rhythmic beats, rap, and some of the best vocalists Tallahassee has to
offer. Like milk chocolate, you have got PA, with her smooth delivery, the
vocals flows over you while the music has you drifting.
Jay-C is more like dark chocolate, not as sweet but very satisfying as
he twisted his word play to beat.
Ormoragita (LaShawn Tribble) is more of that Chocolate-Strawberry
Mousse; classically train voice who has recently begun to sing jazz, R&B and
neo-soul tracks. Jazz Hop anchored by
Whitney Russell is more like Rocky-Road ice cream, keeping it funky and
chunky on the keyboard, and horn. More...
